Start in 2026 SummerEmployee Owned Holdings, Inc. is looking for candidates for a Summer Controls Engineer Internship at Hydraquip Electric Systems. The internship involves assisting engineering with customer projects, gaining hands-on experience, and participating in the Campus Ambassador Program to network and present projects to leadership.

Responsibilities
Work with engineering team with drawings, shop drawings and assembly layouts
Assist with selection, application, and system configuration of electric and hybrid electric drivetrain systems for various off-highway, marine, and other applications
Assist with control system design and PLC programming
Design electrical equipment, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes
Review contracted designs and provide suggestions for design improvement
Use AutoCAD & Solidworks to perform engineering tasks
Experience on the shop floor with system design and assembly
Work with team to commission systems
Qualification
Required
Must be currently enrolled in an ABET accredited undergraduate degree program for electrical engineering, working towards certificate related to the mechantronics or electrical fields
Prefer GPA of 3.0 or higher
Prefer junior or senior but will consider other class levels
Ability to work independently and eager to take on responsibilities
Working knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience with AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS design a plus
Hands-on mechanical aptitude a plus
Strong organizational and time management skills
Analytical, problem-solving and conceptual thinking skills
