Senior Hardware Systems Engineer

Responsibilities
Execute and drive the electrical engineering architecture and design for new products. This includes performing feasibility studies, managing key component selection (chipsets, SoCs, sensors), and leading technical execution around areas like power, thermals, RF/Antenna design, and PCB specifications
Spearhead the development process from initial prototyping, system bring-up, and debug through rigorous validation, certification, and preparation for high-volume production
Collaborate closely with Product Management and customers to understand system requirements, translating user needs into robust, scalable hardware specifications and successful product designs
Serve as a key technical leader, working seamlessly with Product Design (PD), Firmware (FW), Engineering Program Management (EPM), and NPI teams to resolve integration challenges and make excellent technical and schedule tradeoffs
Work in close partnership with Joint Development Manufacturing (JDM) partners, providing clear technical direction and validation oversight to ensure product quality and timely delivery for mass production
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in shipping high-volume hardware programs, working effectively with ODM/JDM partners
Proven expertise in systems design, encompassing multiple areas such as chipset/SoC selection, power optimization, antennas/RF, batteries, sensors, and PCB design
A strong record of navigating and resolving complex tradeoffs among design performance, manufacturability, cost, and aggressive schedules
Experience across a variety of hardware systems, including those leveraging low power design, wireless technologies (LTE, BLE, WiFi, GPS), embedded computing, and sensing/imaging
Expertise in system bring-up and debug, including validation, desense mitigation, and power characterization
BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
Ability to collaborate effectively with global cross-functional teams and drive independent work
Preferred
Experience with certifications and testing involved with industrial and automotive settings (e.g., ISO 16750, AEC-Q100)
Familiarity with schematic and layout tools (e.g., Altium, Cadence Allegro)
Experience with design for supply, design for reliability/testing, and design for manufacture (DfX) principles
