Responsibilities
Support design development civil engineering designs for the Sentinel program project by preparing studies, drawings, calculations, specifications, data sheets, and evaluations, in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements
Work with other civil engineers and technical disciplines in a team environment
Development of grading and backfill design and drawings
Road design and design documents
Foundation design and drawings
Assist with boring oversight and site inspection and review of existing facilities
Perform formal calculations and drawings
Review vendor information from subcontractors and integrate it into the design solution
Execute to schedule requirement while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product
Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team
Qualification
Required
Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
Must have completed a minimum of 4 years of active-duty military service in the United States Armed Forces, with an honorable discharge
Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education
Engineer-in-training (EIT) or Registered Profession Engineer (P.E.) or ability to be obtained within 12 months
Experience using Civil3D
Experience with Microsoft office programs, VISIO, and other common computer programs
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
Ability to utilize office automation tools effectively
Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards, as well as Bechtel Corporate guides and standards
Relevant experience includes related specifications
Broad knowledge of the application of Civil engineering design principles
Preferred
MS degree in Civil or related Engineering, from an accredited university
Registered Professional Engineer in USA (Civil Engineering)
Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ISO-9000
Prior experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense
Experience with use or knowledge of Revit and/or InRoads
Intermediate knowledge of developing CSI Masterformat specifications, or Specslntact
Design experience with Unified Facilities Criteria and the Whole Building Design Guide
Experience in complex excavation approaches and construction execution, field experience is preferred
