Manufacturing Engineer, Stator, Optimus
Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer to develop and engineer new processes and high-volume automation equipment with the Stator team in Austin, TX. The role involves collaborating with various teams to design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for stators, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency.

Responsibilities
Develop manufacturing methods and specify equipment necessary for stator manufacturing, including the following processes: coil winding, laser welding, vision control and precision gaging, conveyance and robotic handling, electrical and end of line tests, plastics molding
Develop new highly automated manufacturing lines from concept to production
Optimize product flow and line efficiency while reducing Capex and lead-time
Generate machine specifications, documentation and manufacturing instructions
Generate process flow, failure mode effects analysis, and inspection methodology for new products
Identify and drive continuous improvement and cost reduction programs
Collaborate with the Stator Engineering Design team to propose solutions for Tesla’s future products
Drive excellence in project execution by defining, managing, and executing project timelines to ensure on-time delivery through proactive program management
Qualification
Required
Experience improving production processes using data analysis software (Minitab, JMP)
Experience with SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software
Experience working with automation systems and robotics controlled by PLCs
Strong hands-on experience with high-volume and pilot manufacturing
Proven track record of data driven methodology to solve complex problems
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent experience
