Business Technology Analyst (BTA)

Morton College is seeking a Business Technology Analyst (BTA) to work collaboratively with administrative and academic departments to analyze business needs and improve efficiency through technology. This position supports the implementation and optimization of enterprise systems, particularly ERP, and contributes to the planning and delivery of technology projects aligned with the College’s mission and strategic goals.

Higher Education

Responsibilities

Identify and evaluate existing business processes across departments
Recommend and implement process enhancements leveraging technology
Document workflows using flowcharts, diagrams, and other visual tools
Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of IT projects
Develop business cases, cost/benefit analyses, and implementation plans
Engage with faculty, staff, and administrators to understand functional needs
Act as a liaison between technical teams and end users
Communicate project updates and recommendations clearly and proactively
Prepare training materials and conduct training sessions for system users
Create and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations and processes
Utilize critical and creative thinking to identify ways to enhance service delivery
Demonstrate initiative and independence in managing tasks and solving problems
Uphold and support the open access mission of Morton College
Foster a culture focused on student success and continuous improvement
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in information technology
Demonstrated ability to analyze and document business requirements in addition to evaluate and improving business processes using ERP systems
Ability to support and configure Ellucian Colleague ERP system
Must be able to demonstrate the Morton College core values of Compassion, Equity, Accountability, Innovation, and Excellence

Preferred

Working knowledge of project management principles and experience supporting or leading projects
Experience in designing, developing, and implementing ERP systems in a higher education environment
Proficiency with MS SQL and SQL programming in addition to report creation, system documentation, and user training
