Clinical Coordinator LMFT LCSW or Licensed Psychologist
SHIELDS for Families is a behavioral health organization seeking a Clinical Coordinator. The role involves providing supervision and clinical support for program therapists, coordinating clinical support services, and performing various administrative and supervisory duties.

Responsibilities
Providing supervision and clinical support for program therapists
Coordinating clinical support services to participants to assist with goal setting, linkages and referral resources
Perform administrative and supervisory duties to include billing, Q.A. Reports, review of clinical documentation and training new staff
May represent Mental Health Administration and/or Management at community meetings
Understanding, support and maintenance of all programmatic contractual requirements
Maintain weekly individual and group supervision with all clinical staff
Maintain BBS specific documentation
Maintain continuing education requirements and complete BBS supervisory training
Assist in the weekly review of clinical documentation. Provide appropriate feedback to staff and follow up on necessary corrections
Facilitated monthly case conferences with MH case managers and therapists
Consult with staff on case problems and legal/ethical issues. Review all suspected abuse reports prior to submission to DCFS/APS, and SHIELDS administration
Responsible for providing clinical documentation training to new staff in the program
Plan, develop, and participate in staff development and other staff training activities
Collaborate with consumers, other professional staff and outside agencies when clinically appropriate
Network with peers in other community service agencies to share ideas and resources, develop effective programs, solve common problems and maintain a professional network of referral sources for mental health services
Assist in facilitating a client being placed on a 5150 or voluntary hospitalization, either by accompanying the client/family to the Psychiatric Hospital, or by contacting the PET Team/Police to have the client placed on 5150 hold
Reviews staff charts and documentation of client services, ensuring compliance with Agency policies and procedures, Department of Mental Health contract and other related agencies’ standards and guidelines
Develops and maintains supervisory skills through seminars, workshops, or other forms of training/education related to working with adults with a history of mental illness
Attends and participates in program, Agency staff meetings; and related community agency meetings as required/requested
May represent Program Coordinator at community meetings if necessary
Performs other duties as requested, directed or assigned
Not use or disclose protected health information about any member or other party in compliance with SHIELDS policies related to state or federal laws such as Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
Use appropriate safeguards to protect the confidentiality of such information
Report to SHIELDS management any use or disclosure of protected health information not permitted by SHIELDS policies related to state or federal laws such as HIPAA
Participate in SHIELDS training or briefings on HIPAA information as scheduled
Consult with supervisor on any issues or questions about compliance under SHIELDS policies related to state or federal laws such as HIPAA
Review weekly documentation and provide appropriate feedback to staff. Follow up with staff to ensure that any necessary corrections are made
Responsible for ongoing communication/collaboration with SHIELDS Administration. Facilitate weekly case consultation
Participate in the development of performance evaluations
Facilitate the handling of staff disciplinary actions in coordination with the Program Manager
Provide consultation and training to team members regarding model specific information and techniques
Qualification
Required
A working knowledge of conducting individual counseling sessions for those with a history of mental illness and their families
Strong working knowledge of crisis intervention and individual counseling, documentation, psychiatric intern supervision, and multicultural and socio-economic issues
Know and comply with Agency policies and procedures, HIPAA, Department of Mental Health, policies and documentation guidelines, and other state/federal regulations relating to service programs for adults with a history of mental illness
Basic advocacy skills
Present ideas, information, and viewpoints clearly, both verbally and in writing
Efficiently use the personal computer to include a variety of word processing software
Utilize analysis, experience, and judgment to make decisions
Demonstrate commitment to team objectives and SHIELDS For Families philosophies
Adapt to changing needs by acquiring new skills and knowledge
Current California driver's license and a driving record acceptable to the Agency's insurance carrier
Provides services within a culturally sensitive, ethnic informed model of practice and is respectful to the community and clients
These requirements are typically met by a combination of education at a Master's level and experience that includes two years' experience working with individuals with a history of mental illness in a social service/mental health environment. (LMFT, LCSW or Licensed Psychologist required)
