Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Teacher
Liberation Academy is seeking a passionate, dynamic, and equity-focused STEM Teacher to join their dedicated team. The ideal candidate will inspire students through culturally relevant, project-based learning that connects classroom content to real-world challenges and social justice issues. The role involves designing and delivering engaging STEM instruction, building a positive school culture, and demonstrating a growth mindset.
Primary and Secondary Education
Responsibilities
Design and deliver engaging, project-based, and interdisciplinary STEM instruction aligned with national standards (e.g., NGSS) and Liberation Academy's educational philosophy
Integrate culturally responsive pedagogy and social justice principles into all lessons, making STEM relevant to students' lives and communities
Develop academically rigorous lessons, unit plans, rubrics, and assessments
Use data to inform instructional decisions
Differentiate instruction to ensure that all students are progressing
In conjunction with Exceptional Education Teachers, work to ensure that all IEPs and student needs are met both within and outside of the classroom
Embody and maintain school's values, policies, and culture
Develop positive relationships with students, families, teachers, staff, and community members
Establish and maintain strong communication with all families and share progress
Show up for critical school events, including staff meetings, open houses, parent-teacher conferences, and more
Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and is developmentally appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required

Pass Criminal Background Check
Demonstrated commitment to closing the opportunity gap
By the time that employment begins, all teachers in our schools must meet certification requirements. There are a few ways to meet this requirement: Hold a valid Georgia Teaching License and possess the correct content endorsements needed to teach the particular content, Hold a valid teaching license that has successfully been transferred from another state that offers reciprocity with GA, Enroll in state-accredited Alternative Certification Program pursuing certification and be eligible for recommendation of licensure by district or program
Preferred
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant STEM field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics) or Education with a specialization in STEM
Certified to teach middle grades math or science
Previous experience in the field of computer science
