Responsibilities

Provide technical expertise in the selection, configuration, and performance of gas and electric meters
Provide technical expertise and support for electric service work
Conduct analysis and testing to ensure meter accuracy, reliability, and compliance with industry standards
Support the integration and troubleshooting of metering systems with Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI)
Plan and execute small to mid-scale metering projects, including upgrades, replacements, and system improvements
Prepare project documentation, cost estimates, and schedules
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safe and efficient project implementation
Support compliance with Public Service Commission (PSC) and industry standards, including ANSI, AGA, and NIST requirements
Assist in maintaining accurate documentation and reporting for audits and inspections
Provide engineering guidance to field metering staff on installation, testing, and maintenance practices
Analyze performance and failure trends, recommending corrective actions
Develop and update technical procedures, standards, and specifications
Participate in the evaluation and adoption of new metering technologies
Recommend process improvements to enhance safety, efficiency, and reliability
Support data-driven decision-making through engineering analysis

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering field
2–5 years of relevant engineering experience
Knowledge of gas and electric metering principles, instrumentation, and standards
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective communication and teamwork skills

Preferred

Utility or metering experience
EIT certification or progress toward Professional Engineer (PE) license desirable
