Responsibilities

Networks with other department personnel (including other engineers and supervisors) to tackle procedural and quality issues related to producing and delivering quality products
Supports, implements, and maintains methods, operation sequences, and processes in manufacturing the final product. Uses projects to improve the safety, efficiency, and quality of various manufacturing processes
Observe the starting, running, and upgrading of manufacturing processes to maximize productivity without sacrificing quality requirements. May work closely with an outside vendor to set up new equipment
Designs, installs, and commissions new production processes and tools. Hands-on knowledge and design experience are utilized daily
Creates work instructions and associated process documentation and updates existing documents following change order and revision control requirements
Ensure all production personnel understand new processes or any process changes correctly. May train production operators on new processes and solve problems at the user level to ensure ease of use and accuracy
Analyze problems and address RCCAs using analytical methods
Makes observations and measurements directly, as well as collects and interprets data from the existing production line to adjust and correct
Takes ownership of assigned projects and manages results from start to finish with guidance from a Senior Engineer, Engineering Manager, or production manager. May manage technicians or other engineers on projects
Ensuring safety is a priority on all tools and production activity. May train operators on safe machine practices in all activities
Works with various team members, including facilities, EHS, quality, supply management, and production
May be cross trained in a variety of skills, including inspection, testing, project management, programming, gauge R&R, drawings, and metrology

Required

Requires a 4-year degree in Engineering and 2+ years of engineering experience in a production environment with process and equipment
2+ years of experience in a production engineering environment with process and equipment
Hands-on mechanical and analytical experience in a production environment
Knowledge of SPC, FMEA, Lean, and Six Sigma principles
Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite, AutoCad, and/or SolidWorks, with intermediate skills in SolidCAM preferred
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to interface with customers and outside vendors and to generate and deliver presentations to internal customers
Must be eligible to work in an ITAR-regulated environment (U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency required)

Preferred

Familiarity with ceramic or industrial parts processing (preferred)
Intermediate skills in SolidCAM preferred
