Responsibilities

The Cardiovascular Interventional Radiologic Technologist (RT) assists in all procedures performed in the Cardiovascular Intervention Center and is a member of the Cath Lab team
Performs the radiological procedures at a technical level
Responsible for positioning the patient and fluoroscopic equipment as needed to obtain optimum views of all relevant anatomy during procedures
Provides a safe patient care environment, maintains and operates the physiological monitoring/recording system for both interventional cardiac and complex electrophysiology studies, is responsible for monitoring radiation exposure levels during all exams and ensuring that technical factors appropriate for the given procedure are used

Radiology TechnologyARRT certificationCRT certificationFluoroscopy permitBLS certificationArrhythmia recognitionHemodynamic monitoringACLS certificationCongenital Heart experienceInterventional procedures experience

Required

Graduate of a Radiology Technology program in an AMA approved school required
Current ARRT and CRT certifications required
Fluoroscopy permit required
BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
Excellent arrhythmia recognition and hemodynamic monitoring skills required

Preferred

ACLS preferred
RT-CI specialty certification preferred
Experience performing a variety of Radiologic Interventional scans and/or procedures in a busy clinic environment preferred
Applicants with more than 3 years of experience may be considered as Cardiovascular IR Tech II
Congenital Heart experience preferred
