Responsibilities
Lead the structural design and management of bridge projects, from concept through construction
Prepare contract documents, specifications, and bid packages; provide oversight during construction phase services
Monitor project schedules, scopes, and budgets to ensure successful delivery
Direct and mentor design engineers and CAD/drafting staff
Collaborate with subconsultants and internal teams to maintain coordination across disciplines
Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, presenting technical solutions clearly and effectively
Contribute to the preparation of technical reports and design calculations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred)
10–20 years of experience in structural/bridge design
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Maryland (or ability to obtain)
Proficiency in structural design for steel, reinforced concrete, and prestressed concrete components
Experience with AASHTO LRFD bridge design standards
Background in managing projects for state transportation agencies (Maryland DOT experience strongly preferred)
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to manage multiple assignments in a collaborative environment
