The role involves conducting forensic inspections, researching building codes, and preparing technical reports to communicate findings effectively.

Responsibilities
Conduct forensic inspections of residential and commercial buildings
Research and apply building codes during investigations and reporting
Determine the cause of structural failures and document findings
Prepare technical reports that clearly communicate complex conditions
Develop repair design documents and remediation recommendations when needed
Maintain organized inspection records
Qualification
Required
Licensed Structural Engineer (P.E. or ability to obtain in the near term preferred)
Strong field presence: comfortable working at heights, in crawlspaces, and in varied weather
Clear communicator who can translate engineering findings for clients and non-engineers
Skilled in technical writing with excellent attention to detail
Solid computer skills (Microsoft Office required)
Team-oriented with initiative to grow into a leadership role
Preferred
AutoCAD experience preferred or willingness to learn
Construction experience is a plus
