Responsibilities

Lead AWS cloud-native implementations for policy administration and claims processing systems
Design and deliver serverless architectures using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and EventBridge
Implement microservices-based solutions leveraging Amazon ECS/EKS and AWS Fargate
Drive containerization initiatives and orchestrate deployments using AWS native services
Ensure solutions maximize AWS Well-Architected Framework principles
Spearhead AI/ML initiatives using Amazon SageMaker for claims fraud detection and automated adjudication
Implement intelligent document processing using Amazon Textract and Comprehend for policy and claims documents
Deploy predictive analytics models for risk assessment and claims forecasting using AWS AI services
Leverage Amazon Bedrock and generative AI for customer service automation and policy recommendation engines
Build ML pipelines for continuous model training, deployment, and monitoring
Guide architecture decisions leveraging AWS managed services (RDS, DynamoDB, S3, Kinesis)
Implement event-driven architectures using Amazon EventBridge and SNS/SQS
Ensure solutions utilize AWS security best practices including IAM, KMS, and AWS Security Hub
Drive Infrastructure as Code adoption using AWS CDK and CloudFormation
Serve as the primary technology partner for policy administration and claims business units
Translate complex business requirements into cloud-native, AI-enhanced technical solutions
Partner with business leaders to identify AI/ML use cases for process automation and decision support
Champion data-driven decision making through AWS analytics and business intelligence tools
Lead and mentor a team of 5-10 cloud engineers and technical analysts
Build team expertise in AWS services, cloud-native development, and AI/ML technologies
Foster a culture of cloud-first thinking and continuous experimentation with emerging AWS services
Coordinate with AWS solution architects and support teams for optimal resource utilization
Implement AWS monitoring and observability using CloudWatch, X-Ray, and DataDog
Ensure 99.9%+ availability through multi-AZ deployments and AWS auto-scaling capabilities
Optimize AWS costs through Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and right-sizing initiatives
Implement CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and CodeDeploy
Maintain compliance using AWS Config, CloudTrail, and AWS Audit Manager
Present AWS cloud migration strategies and AI roadmaps to senior management
Collaborate with AWS account teams and solution architects for technical guidance
Manage cloud spending and demonstrate ROI of AWS investments
Facilitate workshops on AI art of the possible using AWS services

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
7+ years of technology experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within insurance or financial services
Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services including compute, storage, databases, and networking
Proven expertise in cloud-native application development and microservices architecture on AWS
Strong background in implementing AI/ML solutions using AWS AI/ML services (SageMaker, Bedrock, etc.)
Experience with serverless architectures and event-driven systems on AWS
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform
Deep understanding of AWS security, compliance, and governance best practices
Experience migrating legacy insurance systems to AWS cloud
Strong knowledge of policy administration and/or claims processing workflows
Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate cloud and AI value propositions

Preferred

AWS Certifications: Solutions Architect Professional, Machine Learning Specialty, or DevOps Engineer
Experience with Amazon Bedrock and generative AI applications in insurance
Knowledge of AWS industry-specific solutions for insurance and financial services
Familiarity with AWS Lake Formation and building data lakes for insurance analytics
Experience with real-time streaming analytics using Kinesis and Kafka on AWS
Background in implementing AWS Contact Center solutions for claims and customer service
Experience with LA&H policy administration platforms
Knowledge of AWS Partner Network solutions for insurance
