Senior Analyst - Accounting
MacAllister Machinery Co., Inc. is seeking a Senior Analyst in Accounting to support the Corporate Finance department's objectives. The role involves compiling and analyzing financial transactions and operational data to provide accurate information for reporting and decision support.

Responsibilities
Assimilate data from multiple internal operating systems utilizing various technology platforms to analyze trends and provide decision support to the business units and corporate functions
Develop models, dashboards and processes to provide information, reports and analyses to support decision-making and assist management in evaluating operational effectiveness
Compile, interpret and maintain data used by various stakeholders; reconcile data to the general ledger/source to validate accuracy and completeness
Maintain appropriate audit trails to support reported information; assist with data requests for the administration of audits by governmental agencies and other external parties
Compile, analyze and interpret data to assist business units/departments in understanding financial and operational performance; monitor trends, performance indicators and budget variances
Prepare standard and ad hoc financial and operational reports for internal and external stakeholders
Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and interim and rolling financial forecasts based on projected economic and market conditions; work closely with management to identify key inputs to the process
Prepare financial analysis to evaluate capital and other investment proposals
Assist with the monthly accounting close. Prepare/review transactions, entries and reconciliations to ensure that all transactions affecting the financial records of the Company are adequately documented, processed timely, accurately, consistently and in accordance with U.S. GAAP and corporate accounting policies and procedures
Assist with the development and implementation of refinements to procedures and processes to perform finance functions in the most efficient and effective manner. Assist with the implementation of new technology, automation and processes to improve productivity and reduce risk
Communicate timely with appropriate levels of management to address potential issues and identify areas that may require heightened attention
Foster a strong internal control environment and service orientation throughout the organization
Establish and maintain effective work relationships within the department, Company and community; maintain the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of assigned responsibilities
Perform other accounting and financial related analyses, tasks and projects as assigned by management
Qualification
Required
Bachelors Degree in a business related field (preferably Business, Accounting, Finance or Economics)
Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in the accounting/finance department of a mid to large multi-location corporation, or four (4) years of combined experience with a mid to large public accounting firm (at least 2 years) and a mid to large multi-location corporation in an accounting/finance role
Significant exposure to data manipulation tools and modeling techniques
Preferred
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation
Experience in the accounting/finance area of a publicly-traded company
