The Water Engineer Summer Intern will support the Raleigh-Cary/Greensboro, NC team in tackling water issues such as quality, scarcity, and management while developing technical capabilities and collaborating with experienced professionals.

Responsibilities
Evaluate, plan, and design projects related to water/wastewater/stormwater treatment and conveyance, including pipelines and pumping facilities
Support project management activities
Conduct vulnerability assessments, mitigation planning, and design solutions for utilities, municipalities, and cities
Perform site visits, water sampling, analyze water quality, evaluate technologies, troubleshoot processes, and optimize plant operations
Gather critical data and ensure the efficient and effective functioning of water and wastewater systems
Support Asset Management projects by utilizing data analytics to perform operational and organizational assessments, conducting condition assessments, and evaluating the overall performance of water/wastewater/stormwater facilities
Prepare reports, presentations, and other audio-visual materials, and participate in client meetings
Ensure project compliance with all Arcadis practices and quality, health and safety standards, and facilitate coordination for timely completion and submission of projects on time and budget
Learn, design, and manage databases, SQL server (including reporting and integration services), cloud-based computing services, and configuration of interactive dashboards
Work independently and as part of a team, with the flexibility to accommodate collaboration with team members across the U.S. and internationally
Learn and use digital tools to enhance customer experience, team and client collaboration, and project delivery including configuration and deployment of SharePoint, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Power BI, and Augmented Reality
Qualification
Required
Pursuing a Bachelors of Science degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or a closely related engineering discipline)
Preferred
Prior work/internship experience at a design or consulting engineering firm or municipal work environment
Experience with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and/or Revit
EIT certification
