Metropolitan Transportation Authority is seeking a Design Manager to oversee the design and compliance services for engineering and architectural disciplines within the Construction & Development agency. The Design Manager will ensure that design delivery standards are met and will manage the architectural and engineering design processes throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Reviews/creates in-house technical designs for non-Design-Build projects

Responsible for monitoring and/or auditing third-party technical design and engineering activities for compliance with the contract’s requirements

Provides continuous design oversight throughout the entire project lifecycle

Manages and allocates design review team members to project schedules/milestones

Acts as a technical authority & governance

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction, Project Management, Business Administration, Transportation, or a related field

Must have a minimum of five (5) years of related experience

Licensed Professional Engineer or Registered Architect required

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Must have focus and ability to deliver on results, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement

Must possess excellent team-building, listening, problem-solving, and prioritization skills

Proficient computer skills (i.e., Windows environment, Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft, Oracle, etc.) and strong business administrative skills (i.e., presentations, report and letter writing, time management, etc.)
