5+ years expTesla is currently seeking a motivated and accomplished Manufacturing Engineer to lead the design and implementation of automated material handling systems for new and existing factories. The role involves managing automated material handling projects and ensuring that designs meet Tesla's goals, while also providing mentorship and guidance to other engineers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Design automated material handling solutions to establish new and improved existing material flows throughout the facilities. The design includes material arrival at docks, delivery to line-side locations, material transport between internal manufacturing lines, buffer/storage systems, robotic material handling solutions
Drive material flow strategies and dynamic manufacturing systems
Develop analytical models to establish design criteria and overall system performance criteria
Investigate and research advanced technologies to optimize material handling equipment and systems
Concept development, detailed engineering design, and collaboration with system build and integration
Develop RFQs, technical equipment specifications, procedures, and proper documentation
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
5+ yrs in manufacturing sector (automation line integrator, automotive OEM or Tier 1,2,3 supplier)
Mech Designer, Project Engineer and Project Management experience
Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD software, strong design experience understanding the mechanics and standards of automation equipment
A solid engineering background with hands-on design and development experience
A passion to work with automation equipment and design processes around it
Ability to lead a project from concept through to installation and hand-over while working in a close-knit, team environment
Knowledge of and experience with material flow strategies and dynamic manufacturing systems
Strong analytical and organizational skills. Ability to manage several complex projects at the same time with high degrees of variation and uncertainty
