Satellite Communications Engineer
NETSEA Technologies is a fast-growing consulting, engineering, and IT services provider to the Federal Government and Commercial marketplace, and they are seeking to fill multiple SATCOM Engineer positions. These roles involve providing technical assessments, supporting system designs, and developing network architecture for tactical communications systems.

Responsibilities
Provide in-depth technical assessments and analysis of activities within and between programs
Support the design of system architectures, terminals, waveforms and access protocols
Support analysis of system performance, throughput and response time, analysis of operational requirements and system loading
Conduct systems engineering evaluations of satellite and terminal designs
Participate in proposal and technical evaluations for satellite systems
Support design reviews and perform evaluation of satellite and terminal contractor designs
Design, plan, install, integrate, and maintain backbone core-area tactical and strategic communications networks
Gather requirements from users, Operational Need Statements, and Capability Production Documents (CPDs) for the Army’s tactical communications systems and translate requirements into technical solutions that are standards-based and cost-efficient
Develop network architecture for adjacent, higher, and lower units, as well as for allied nations, other government agencies, and commercial service interfaces
Support technical tasks in the integration of Data/Voice/Video/Telephony in the Tactical Network, engineering and technical documentation, and assistance in the development of technical requirements, specifications, plans, and reports, software/hardware engineering, preparation of independent assessments, systems engineering, technical expertise at fielding locations, test and evaluation, architectural/interoperability support, and quality engineering
Provide technical support in equipment labs
Develop equipment and network configurations and products
Support technology insertion testing relative to emerging requirements and capabilities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
A minimum of ten (10) years of related SATCOM engineering experience. Alternatively, BS may be substituted with an additional 7 years of related experience performing SATCOM engineering functions
Subject matter expert in all aspects of transmission, to include modulation and coding, link budgets, radio frequency equipment, antennas, waveforms, blockage mitigation and other algorithms/protocols
Subject Matter Expert of systems engineering methods and processes in order to perform SATCOM system analysis and evaluations for both commercial and military systems
Knowledge of Military Standards (MIL-STDs) and certification processes
Familiar with customer/vendor product development, business proposals, marketing interaction, product design and manufacturing processes
Ability to translate complex technical issues into meaningful terms for others involved
DOD Secret Security clearance is required
