Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) is seeking dynamic and creative musicians for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position as the Director of Choral Activities. The successful candidate will lead choral ensembles, engage in research, and teach courses in conducting and music education while contributing to the growth and artistic direction of the school.

Responsibilities
Serve as the primary leader in recruitment, artistic direction, and strategic planning for ensemble growth for all MTSU choral ensembles
Lead Schola Cantorum in rehearsal and performance
Prepare undergraduate and graduate courses in conducting, music education, and academic areas based on the candidate's areas of specialization
Qualification
Required
A terminal degree in conducting or music education is required by the appointment date
Three years of full-time teaching at the collegiate level is required
The successful candidate must demonstrate knowledge of methods and current developments in choral music as an academic discipline
Familiarity with current instructional strategies for the K-12 and collegiate classroom
Excellent musicianship skills
Comprehensive knowledge of standard choral literature with a commitment to the performance of new music
Knowledge of current performance practice, including the incorporation of cross-disciplinary initiatives and commitment to various genres
Preferred
Applicants with a minimum of three years middle school or high school classroom teaching experience will receive special consideration
