Manager, Structural Engineering (Renovations)
LA28 is the independent, non-profit organizing committee for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Manager, Structural Engineering (Renovations) will lead the technical design and development of renovation projects for Olympic venues, ensuring compliance with industry standards and collaboration with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Lead structural engineering technical design and development, including internal and external engineers and consultants
Oversee the relevant aspects of technical development of renovation projects and integration of existing infrastructure where relevant
Analyze existing infrastructure and determine supplemental structural infrastructure improvements required
Collaborate with architects and other engineers to integrate structural modifications into the overall venue design
Develop technical engineering design guides and principles and adapt IOC requirements to local practices
Prepare and oversee the structural portion of the venue design books and other technical publications. Advance engineering designs through increasing levels of detail from concept through construction drawings
Manage and develop review process for plans to meet departmental milestones
Oversee an installation team during operations and maintenance during the event period
Ensure compliance within workstream to Health & Safety regulations
Close collaboration with Energy, Technology, and other infrastructure functional areas to integrate civil requirements
Coordinate internal and external stakeholders’ requirements to develop cost effective and streamlined engineering solutions to meet their games time requirements for each venue
Support the development of integrated workplans and schedules with the infrastructure master schedule, event operations planning, and central program management
Partner with Finance and Procurement teams to prepare costs, elevate delivery and procurement risks, and identify savings opportunities
Support other cross-functional initiatives, including Permitting, Risk Management, and Event Operations
Qualification
Required
5 years of experience with structural engineering infrastructure design and construction
Experience leading diverse teams delivering complex, high-profile infrastructure projects
Advanced knowledge of engineering tools and software (Revit, AutoCAD, etc.)
Detail-oriented with excellent command of productivity and collaboration tools (Office360, SharePoint, Smartsheet, Autodesk Cloud, etc.)
Experience with key industry codes, standards, and practices
Knowledge of key structural engineering activities, including preparation, installation, and maintenance
Knowledge of fundamental project management concepts (e.g., scope, schedule, budget)
Demonstrated commitment to co-creation and collaborative decision-making
Accredited Bachelors Degree in Structural Engineering
Ability to manage external consultants to meet project goals
Ability to work within a complex and demanding environment with many stakeholders while maintaining strong relationships
Preferred
Professional Engineering license in California
Project Management and Construction Certifications
Experience in design and construction in the US and California markets
