Responsibilities
Performing tests on bodily fluids, tissues, and cells to help physicians diagnose, treat, and monitor diseases and illnesses
Operate and maintain sophisticated lab equipment, ensure quality control, analyze test results, record data, and communicate findings to healthcare providers
Assumes responsibility for the performance of routine, standardized biological and/or biochemical tests, as well as more complex procedures on blood, urine, tissues, body fluids and other specimens
Recognizing results or problems that require referral to Supervisor, Manager and or Pathologist
Perform additional tasks as requested by Chairman of Pathology or his/her designee
Qualification
Required
Baccalaureate degree in medical technology or sciences
Knowledge of specialized principles or techniques, which would normally be obtained through a formal four-year college/university academic program
Registry with a recognized board of registry for medical technology, such as American Society of Clinical Pathologists preferred
