Ancillary Support Services like Case Management, Prevention, and Recovery Coaching

Medications to Support Ongoing Recovery

Co-Occurring Disorders

Practical application of group counseling

Steady integration into the therapeutic process beginning with observation and becoming more interactive

Practicing debriefing, one of the key clinical skills necessary to thrive in this field

Processing and dispelling previously held assumptions and beliefs about people impacted by addiction

Balancing the format of a pre-planned topic with meeting the needs of the patients at that time, in that moment

In real-time, recognizing the differences between a psychoeducation lecture style and an interactive group therapy session

Required

Pursuing an appropriate degree at a two or four year college or university

Bachelors or Masters Degree in an appropriate discipline
