Customer Service Clerk

Hazelwood School District is seeking a Customer Service Clerk to work with Transportation staff to ensure high-quality customer service. The role involves assisting parents, students, and district staff with transportation-related inquiries and maintaining open communication with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Ensure an excellent customer experience by providing support and assistance to parents, students, and district staff related to communications with the Transportation department
Answers incoming calls to assist parents, students, and staff with questions and concerns regarding transportation information
Follow-up on emails and phone calls directed to the Transportation Department
Check voicemails and prioritizes assignment of related tasks to correct transportation staff
Assist with coordination and organization of phone bank at the beginning of the school year
Maintain open communications with transportation staff, district administrators, and other district staff
Utilize Student Information System and various transportation software to access information in order to provide customer service to all stakeholders
All other duties as assigned by Director of Transportation

Required

Basic knowledge of arithmetic, spelling, English, and grammar
Strong verbal and written communications skills are required
High attention to accuracy in checking, posting, proofreading and counting
Prefer a minimum of one year in the customer service industry with strong multi-line phone handling and conflict resolution
Apply commonsense understanding to carry out one or two-step instructions
Deal with standardized and complex situations
Add and subtract two digit numbers
Perform the four basic arithmetic operations
Strong reading, writing, and speaking skills
Knowledge of how to prioritize and distribute critical situation communications
Ability to work in high pressure situations
Must possess positive and highly effective 'people skills.'
Commercial Driver's License-School Bus Permit with passenger and student endorsement
