Government Affairs Intern
EAA Radio is involved in advocacy efforts within the aviation sector, and they are seeking a Government Affairs Intern to assist with these initiatives. This role includes preparing for EAA's advocacy program at the annual AirVenture convention and engaging in various regulatory policy and aviation safety analysis activities.

Responsibilities
Review of the Federal Register
Research of publications and online sources for information relevant to legislative affairs and government agency initiatives
Tracking and analysis of aviation accident trends
Tracking of proposed federal agency actions and assisting in development of EAA’s response
Fielding, researching and developing recommended solutions for member inquiries
Assisting with writing regular updates to the Government Advocacy section of the EAA web site, eHotline newsletter, and Sport Aviation
Aiding in the upkeep of EAA Advocacy meeting spaces during AirVenture and performance of other AirVenture tasks as assigned
Embracing and supporting the EAA mission and performing safe practices in the workplace and aviation environment
All other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Enrolled in/recent graduate of a college degree program that emphasizes aviation and/or government affairs
Working knowledge of federal and state government processes, activities and regulations
High level of organizational skill and ability to manage time effectively
Ability to work independently and take on tasks proactively
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key colleagues in other areas of EAA
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred
Pilot certificate and/or aviation experience
