Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) is inviting applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in physiology within the Department of Biology. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching at both graduate and undergraduate levels, conducting independent research, and mentoring students, with an expectation to build a vigorous, externally funded research program.

Conduct independent research and mentor students (undergraduate, MS, and PhD) at a level that will gain national and international recognition
Teach at graduate and undergraduate levels
Develop an externally funded research program at a level appropriate to mentor master’s and doctoral graduate students
Qualification
Required
A terminal degree in biology, physiology, or a closely related field is required by the appointment date
Candidates committed to innovative teaching, robust research/creative activity, and meaningful service
Ability to build a vigorous, externally funded research program
Engagement with undergraduate and graduate students in research
Conduct independent research and mentor students (undergraduate, MS, and PhD) at a level that will gain national and international recognition
Teaching at graduate and undergraduate levels
Preferred
Post-doctoral research experience
A strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals
Grant or fellowship funding that reflects high productivity commensurate with the applicant's current career stage
Expertise and ability to teach and mentor in biomedical sciences
