Responsibilities

Grow a high-performing FinOps function responsible for cloud cost forecasting, budgeting and reporting across Marsh’s cloud portfolio
Define and implement cloud financial management frameworks, policies and best practices that drive a cost-conscious mindset, cost efficiency and business value
Partner with the MMC Cloud Business Office, IT Directors, Technology Product Managers (TPMs) and Finance team to align cloud investments with strategic priorities
Oversee cloud resource management, including Configuration Management Database (CMDB) accuracy, right-sizing initiatives, and reservation/savings plan optimization
Drive adoption of FinOps tools and reporting platforms to provide actionable insights and transparent reporting to stakeholders
Be a FinOps Subject Matter Expert, partnering with cloud architects and engineering teams, guiding design and tactical cost savings

Required

Proven experience running FinOps or cloud financial management functions in complex, global organizations
Deep understanding of cloud technologies, especially AWS and Azure, and cloud cost optimization strategies
Expertise in budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting for cloud environments
Experience with FinOps tools such as Densify, FinOut, AWS cost explorer and cloud scheduling platforms
Analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize complex data and present clear insights
Technical Acumen to collaborate with architects and engineers
Working knowledge of key technologies such as Kubernetes, Serverless, and Cloud Native tools

Preferred

You are a strategic thinker who can translate complex financial and technical data into clear, actionable insights that influence decision-making at all levels
You excel at building strong partnerships across IT, finance, and business teams, fostering collaboration and alignment around cloud financial goals
You have a proactive, problem-solving mindset, able to identify root causes of inefficiencies and lead initiatives that deliver sustainable improvements
You embrace change and innovation, championing new tools, processes, and ways of working to advance the FinOps practice and cloud financial management maturity
You communicate effectively with diverse audiences, from technical teams to C-suite executives, simplifying complexity and building consensus
Certifications in FinOps and/or cloud platforms, or project management (e.g., PMP, Agile)
Experience and working knowledge of cloud architectures, services, and application design patterns that drive costs. Knowledge of cost levers such as Reserved Instances and Savings Plans
