They are seeking a Per Diem Mammography Technologist who will prepare patients for exams, perform mammography procedures, and ensure patient comfort and modesty during the process.

Responsibilities

Prepares patient for exams as required and insures patient comfort and modesty at all times

Performs mammography procedures according to department procedure using standard mammography equipment to apply prescribed ionizing radiation in order to assist physicians in the screening, diagnosis and treatment of patients

Performs related tasks such as assisting patients in positioning for correct anatomical exposure, maintaining order and cleanliness of work area and performing routine clerical tasks

Works as technologist and performs duties in other areas and/or modalities as necessary

Provides care for the psychological and physical needs of patients undergoing mammographic studies

Obtains and examines the requisition for mammography

Always checks patient identification before any procedure is performed

Ensures patient questionnaire is properly completed according to department policy

Qualification

ARRT certificationMammography certificationRTR licensureBLS certificationContinuing education

Required

ARRT certification in Radiology

RTR licensure in Commonwealth Massachusetts

Mammography certification is required

BLS certification is required

Maintaining all area specific CEUs for ARRT, DPH according to regulation is required

Meeting all requirements of FDA/MQSA (Mammography Quality Standards Act) including the MQSA CE (continuing education) requirements
