Civil Site Engineer (Forensics)

They are seeking a Civil Site Engineer to conduct field investigations, analyze failures, and maintain client relations in various civil-site built environments and infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities
Conduct field investigations and analyze failures involving all types of civil-site built environments and infrastructure for large scale land developments, master planned communities, mixed used projects, roadway and utility, and streetscape enhancements
Evaluate design/construction-related deficiencies associated with grading and drainage, stormwater conveyance, underground utility systems, erosion control, concrete flatwork, asphalt pavements, and hardscape systems
Experience with: design of site-visibility at intersections, vehicular use areas, parking lots, pedestrian and vehicular ingress/egress ways
The applicability of MUTCD, ADA standards, and Sunshine 811 markings
Preparation, permitting, and construction implementation of civil/site construction plans related to FDOT, water management districts, and various municipalities
Municipal zoning and variance hearings
Conduct unbiased investigations for various types of clients
Responsible for retention and development of client relations
Prepare oral and written reports in layman's terms that document causes of failure, extent of loss, and recommended remediation
Deliver professional presentations, develop client relationships and promote self to client groups
Ability to support conclusions by appropriate expert testimony in legal proceedings
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required
Minimum of five (5) years of civil/site development experience
P. E. (Professional Engineer) registration required through testing
Must possess strong writing skills
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to travel on a variable schedule, including 50% of the time locally and 20% of the time overnight
Ability to lift 50 lbs
Ability to climb ladders and inspect roofs
Ability to maneuver in and around buildings and in confined spaces
Ability to drive to site locations and fly on airplanes, at times at unpredictable hours
Ability to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues
Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required by the work site
Preferred
Prior experience in a forensic firm is a plus but not required
Public speaking experience a plus
