Garmin is a leading technology company specializing in aviation solutions, and they are seeking an Aircraft Certification Engineering Technician 1. In this role, you will provide engineering support for aircraft certification projects, assisting with test equipment setup, troubleshooting, and drafting technical drawings under mentorship.

Responsibilities
Assists with setting up test equipment required for bench tests and ground tests on aircraft and assists with basic software loads to integration benches
With mentoring, performs basic electrical and system troubleshooting of test equipment and benches
Demonstrates flexibility by adjusting to fix issues that may arise regardless of the source of the issues, responds effectively to changes in direction, and accepts different assignments driven by changes in Garmin priorities
Provides visibility/clearly communicates status of work to Engineers/Senior Technicians
With mentoring/assistance, reads and executes simple schematics and layout drawings
Assists in drafting simple system, component or assembly wiring diagrams with mentoring from engineering or Senior Technicians as required
Fabricates simple electrical wire harness assemblies with oversight and mentoring
With mentoring/assistance, reads and executes basic mechanical drawings for simple parts
Assists in drafting 2D AutoCAD drawings of simple parts (outline drawings, 3-view, etc.) with mentoring from engineering or Senior Technicians
Fabricates simple parts from sheet metal or modifies existing assemblies by installing parts of low complexity
Qualification
Required
Associate's Degree in a related technical field (ex. Electronics Technology, Aviation Maintenance, Aeronautics, Computer Technology) OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
Must possess the ability to bend, twist and lift up to 25 lbs. while using safe lifting techniques; stand and sit for extended periods of time; routinely walk short distances; kneel, stoop crouch, and crawl in confined spaces and heights above four feet such as aircraft interiors, cockpits and other aircraft zones
Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and noisy environments
Preferred
Experience using AutoCAD or SolidWorks to create and modify drawings
Experience using MS Office products (Word, Excel)
Private Pilot's License
Possess general knowledge of avionics including Garmin products
