Responsibilities
Conduct original research in cognitive linguistics, semantics, pragmatics, and related fields to expand Gap International’s intellectual property
Apply linguistic theory to business contexts, developing insights that directly impact client performance
Publish research and thought leadership pieces in top journals and present at conferences to strengthen Gap International’s academic and industry presence
Collaborate with internal teams to translate complex linguistic concepts into practical consulting methodologies
Contribute to the design of new diagnostic tools and products based on linguistic insights
Serve as a thought partner to senior leaders, internally and with clients, on the role of language in performance and transformation
Qualification
Required
PhD in Linguistics from a leading academic institution (with emphasis in Cognitive Linguistics, Semantics/Pragmatics, or related fields)
Demonstrated research excellence, evidenced by peer-reviewed publications and/or conference presentations
Strong interest in Theory of Mind and the role of language in cognition and meaning-making
Ability to translate theoretical linguistic insights into practical applications
Current resident or able to relocate to Philadelphia area
Preferred
Client-facing experience preferred
Potential travel domestically and/or internationally
