Responsibilities

Prepares and reviews complex calculations
Reviews simple system/structural designs and prepares complex system designs
Prepares documented design input for drawing production (i.e., P&IDs and Master Diagrams). Reviews design input for simple system/structures. Performs engineering review of drawings
Prepares and reviews equipment specifications. Prepares material specifications
Prepares bid evaluations for systems and larger components. Prepares calculations to support economic evaluations. Solicits data from vendors
Prepares and reviews simple reports/studies
Develops single-discipline/simple-scope project budgets, schedules, and project work plans. Monitors own work to ensure it is completed within budget and on schedule
Provides single-discipline input to simple proposals
Uses effective written and oral communication skills to convey information to project team members and managers. Presents written technical information in a clear and concise manner in all deliverables
Prepares reports and deliverables that are clearly understood and meet client requirements. Communicates clearly in meetings with client, and summarizes meeting notes in a clear and timely manner

Qualification

Mechanical EngineeringASME B31.1Finite Element AnalysisPipe DesignAutoPIPEPE License3D CAD NavigationANSYS WorkbenchCommunication Skills

Required

BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Aerospace, or Structural/Civil Engineering degree with an emphasis in solid mechanics, structural analysis, theory of elasticity, metallurgy, and finite element analysis
7+ years of relevant experience
Must have knowledge of ASME B31.1 and ASME B&PV Section III piping codes
Knowledge of the design, selection, and application of pipe supporting elements
Working knowledge of commercially available piping products and their application
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

PE license
Working knowledge of commercially available piping products and their application
The ability to navigate a 3D CAD model
Experience with AutoPIPE or PIPESTRESS software
Knowledge of gas dynamics and hydraulic transients
Knowledge of pipe condition assessment
Experience with ANSYS Workbench and Mechanical ADP
