Responsibilities
Operating computed tomography (CT) scanners and Digital X-ray equipment to produce detailed images for diagnostic purposes
Preparing and positioning patients
Explaining procedures to ensure their comfort
Capturing high-quality images
Performing a variety of technical procedures by applying principles of radiation protection and ALARA
Reviewing the images for clarity and completeness
Making adjustments as needed
Adhering to strict radiation safety protocols
Performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment
Accurate documentation of patient information and imaging details
Collaborating closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret images and support diagnostic decisions
Qualification
Required
ARRT Certification is required
Illinois State IEMA Certification required within six months of hire
Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire
Preferred
CT registry preferred
Two years' experience as a staff technologist is preferred
