The Senior Accountant – Fixed Asset & Lease will support fixed asset accounting processes and lease accounting, collaborating with business unit leadership to ensure accuracy in accounting for assets and leases.

Responsibilities

Partner with project managers and asset owners to monitor capital project activity and ensure timely capitalization of Construction in Progress (CIP)

Assist in organizing and ensuring all cycle counts have been performed in accordance with the accounting policy

Prepare and post journal entries related to asset additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation

Perform monthly reconciliations of the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger

Ensure the fixed asset subledger is up-to-date and reflects all relevant transactions and adjustments

Analyze fluctuations in fixed asset balances and depreciation expense, providing explanations and insights to management

Assist with the accounting and reporting of leases under ASC 842, including validation and maintenance of lease schedules

Support monthly lease-related journal entries and perform reconciliations of lease liabilities and right-of-use assets

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure lease data accuracy and completeness

Maintain supporting documentation and schedules in compliance with SOX requirements. Support both internal and external audits by providing requested materials and actively participating in walkthroughs and testing with auditors and internal stakeholders

Contribute to various accounting and finance initiatives, including system implementations, process improvements, and other special projects as assigned
