Responsibilities

Develop, release, and manage work orders based on customer requirements, lead times, and capacity constraints
Collaborate with production, engineering, and purchasing to ensure material and resource availability for scheduled jobs
Translate engineering drawings and specifications into routings and manufacturing steps for machined components
Monitor job progress and adjust schedules to address issues such as machine downtime, material delays, or labor shortages
Coordinate with machinists and supervisors to prioritize jobs and resolve production bottlenecks
Review customer orders and confirm delivery dates based on capacity and resource planning
Maintain accurate production schedules and communicate updates to internal stakeholders
Analyze shop performance metrics (e.g., on-time delivery, throughput, WIP) and suggest improvements
Ensure that planning data in ERP/MRP systems is accurate and up to date
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on lead time reduction, productivity, and quality

Required

Strong background in machining and job shop environments
Experience in planning, scheduling, and coordinating manufacturing workflows
Hands-on knowledge of machining processes and shop floor constraints
Ability to develop, release, and manage work orders based on customer requirements, lead times, and capacity constraints
Experience collaborating with production, engineering, and purchasing to ensure material and resource availability
Ability to translate engineering drawings and specifications into routings and manufacturing steps for machined components
Experience monitoring job progress and adjusting schedules to address issues such as machine downtime, material delays, or labor shortages
Ability to coordinate with machinists and supervisors to prioritize jobs and resolve production bottlenecks
Experience reviewing customer orders and confirming delivery dates based on capacity and resource planning
