Responsibilities
Provide expert, business-focused advice on all stages of the employee lifecycle
Partner with stakeholders to design and implement compliant policies, processes, and programs that align with Marqeta’s culture and corporate strategy
Draft, review, and update employment-related agreements, policies, playbooks, and procedures
Lead or support internal investigations involving employee complaints or workplace misconduct
Support and manage employment-related claims, litigation, administrative agency charges, and pre-litigation disputes
Collaborate on major initiatives such as strategic reorganizations, global expansion, and acquisitions
Deliver training that gives managers and stakeholders confidence in handling employment matters
Monitor employment law developments and share potential impact to the business and practice guidance with stakeholders
Support other legal and regulatory matters of interest to broaden your skillset and make an even greater impact
Qualification
Required
5+ years of employment law experience, including counseling and litigation
JD degree from an accredited law school and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a lean, high-performing environment
Adept at communicating complex topics in a clear and digestible way to stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional partners
