Responsibilities
Provide coverage for 14 (12 hour) shifts per month on the MSW Labor & Delivery (L&D) floor as Oula Ob/Gyn which includes caring for Oula patients who need OB/GYN coverage and co-managing patients with the Oula midwifery team. Currently the requirement is to be in house if Oula has patients on the L&D floor
Cover Oula 1st call shifts as needed in staffing shortages/emergency situations. These shifts to be included in the total 14 count
Round on, care for and discharge Oula postpartum patients who have had operative deliveries and/or are higher risk patients needing care coordination
Round on, care for and discharge Oula patients who have been readmitted to the hospital
Round on, care for and discharge Oula patients on the antepartum service as needed to follow up MFM recommendations
Participate in the education and training of new midwives, residents and medical and midwifery students
Other inpatient responsibilities as required by Mount Sinai West for Oula Ob/Gyn providers
Qualification
Required
MD or DO
Residency in obstetrics / gynecology
At least 3-5 years of experience in obstetrics following residency/fellowship, preferably with a focus on obstetrics
Experience building and/or managing clinical programs
Great patient reviews and reputation for exceptional patient care and bedside manner
Experience coaching and/or collaborating with midwives
Licensed to practice medicine in New York State
