Electrophysiology Technologist
UAB St. Vincent’s is a trusted provider of health care in Alabama, serving the community for over 125 years. They are seeking an Electrophysiology Technologist to set up sterile fields, prep patients, and operate mapping equipment during procedures while assisting physicians and ensuring the maintenance of lab equipment.

Responsibilities
To set up sterile fields, prep patients for cases and operate mapping equipment during cases
To operate multiple pieces of equipment that are utilized
To troubleshoot equipment issues
Admits and orients patient to electrophysiology lab according to pre-procedural checklist
Accurately enters patient information to database, hemodynamic and x-ray systems
Explains testing procedure to patient and/or significant others including exam to be performed, type of contrast media used, length of exam and equipment necessary to perform exam
Maintains all the equipment and accessories needed for cases and completes the room inventory
Sets up rooms for cases and performs as scrub assistant
Operates and maintaining electrophysiology lab equipment, including cardiac mapping systems and intracardiac echocardiography machines
Maintains supplies entering charges for supplies used during cases
Assisting physicians during electrophysiology procedures, including catheter placements, electrophysiology studies, and device implantations
Communicates information to physician about patients and/or cases
Collects and analyzes cardiac rhythm strips and other diagnostic data
Observes all occupational and radiation safety regulations
Wears appropriate protective aprons, goggles and gloves
Demonstrates a responsible attitude toward continued professional growth
Maintains all required certifications/licensures; completes all mandatory education requirements
Stays abreast of changes in technology
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Current CPR certification required or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of hire
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required within six (6) months from date of hire into classification
Currently registered as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) and/or Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) through Cardiovascular Credentialing (International (CCI) and/or American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT)
High School Diploma or equivalent
