Cavender's is a company focused on building brand and product awareness, and they are seeking a Public Relations and Special Events Intern to support their PR strategy. The intern will assist with community involvement programs, special events, and sponsorship management, reporting directly to the Public Relations Manager.

Responsibilities

Support the “Cavender’s Culture” and drive our Mission, Vision, and Values
Assist with Community Involvement Program Guidelines for Cavender’s in stores
Assist all special event and rodeo sponsorship, in coordination with radio, art department, and social media
Assist Store Managers in planning collegiate promotions
Assist with inventory of branded promotional and giveaway items for all markets and Home Office
Assist with distribution of banners and promo items to store openings and events
Assist in execution of special projects as assigned
Ensure all materials are on time, error-free, and optimized to deliver on key performance indicators

Required

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in marketing, merchandising, or related field
Passion for the western lifestyle and fashion industry
An interest in western retail
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent oral and written communication skills
A great attitude and willingness to learn and ask questions
High integrity with the ability to represent Cavender's in a highly respectful and positive manner
Ability to interpret documents
Ability to understand the meanings of words and effectively respond
Ability to comprehend complex issues and communicate
Based in Tyler, TX at our home office
Some travel required

Preferred

Possesses excellent problem solving, critical thinking, presentation and communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Action oriented with ability to prioritize and drive results
Ability to work individually on a project or within a team environment
Ability to handle high pressure/stressful situations in a professional manner
