InternChief Buildings is a division of Chief Industries, Inc. that specializes in manufacturing construction solutions. They are seeking a Building Cost Estimating Intern for the summer of 2025 to gain hands-on experience in cost estimating and the metal building industry.

Responsibilities
Gain general knowledge and a working understanding of metal building systems
Review plans to create accurate quote confirmation that defines what we are supplying
Learn Chief’s in-house quoting and order system and process building estimates and components
Maintain quote backlog
Read architectural plans and specifications
Compare customer sketches to quote requests submitted through our system to identify variances and seek clarification
Assist Builders or District Managers with preliminary project layout to lead them toward the most economical and efficient design
Shadow various departments to learn how a metal building moves through the manufacturing process
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required
Must be currently enrolled as a student pursuing a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, business, or related degree program
Must be available to work a summer internship in the Chief Buildings office located in Grand Island, Nebraska
Preferred
Sophomore or junior level students given preference, though freshman may also be considered
