Application Engineer III - Building Automation/Controls

As an Application Engineer III, you will lead building automation projects from kickoff through final commissioning, ensuring that solutions meet client needs while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality.

Responsibilities
Take full ownership of the technical scope for complex building automation projects
Collaborate closely with project managers, other engineers, and technicians to ensure seamless integration and delivery
Apply disciplined workflows and documentation practices to ensure consistency, traceability, and clarity throughout the project lifecycle
Lead design reviews, encouraging collaboration with other meeting attendees to ensure a quality solution
Create detailed engineering documents, drawings, and sequences of operation that align precisely with customer requirements and internal standards
Support field teams by providing structured handoffs, clear specifications, and ongoing collaboration
Maintain a systematic focus on quality control, accuracy, and adherence to project timelines and budgets
Participate in and contribute to internal training initiatives and mentoring efforts to support team development and standardization
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering, or a related field
5+ years of experience in building automation or HVAC controls engineering
Proficient in creating control system drawings, sequences, and equipment schedules
Strong understanding of HVAC systems and control logic
Demonstrated experience leading project teams or owning project deliverables
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
Familiarity with Delta Controls, Tridium, or similar BAS platforms
