Responsibilities

Administer prescribed doses of radiation to patients using specialized equipment
Position patients accurately to ensure effective and safe treatment
Operate and maintain radiation therapy machines, ensuring functionality and safety compliance
Monitor patients during treatments and report any adverse reactions or concerns to the medical team
Educate patients and their families about the treatment process, potential side effects, and post-treatment care
Collaborate with oncologists, medical physicists, Dosimetrists and other healthcare professionals to develop and modify treatment plans
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of treatment sessions
Adhere to safety protocols and radiation protection guidelines to minimize exposure risks

Required

Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy or a related field
Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or an equivalent credential
Current Texas State License (or eligibility to obtain)
Strong technical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide emotional support to patients
Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment with attention to detail

Preferred

Previous experience in a clinical radiation oncology setting
Familiarity with advanced techniques such as IMRT, SBRT, and brachytherapy
EMR experience preferred (e.g., Aria, Epic, or similar platforms)
