Responsibilities
Define, design, and evolve an AI-ready design system for Amazon Devices digital shopping experiences (components, patterns, accessibility, documentation)
Ensure system scalability across multiple product surfaces and platforms
Partner with stakeholders to define product requirements, user needs, and system adoption goals
Prioritize features, manage trade-offs, and establish measurable success criteria
Align design system development with AI-driven use cases and future-proof requirements
Conduct user research and usability testing to validate design system adoption and effectiveness
Create wireframes, prototypes, and documentation for design system usage
Maintain high-quality design standards that ensure consistency, usability, and accessibility
Act as the single-threaded owner, aligning Product, Engineering, Research, and Brand stakeholders
Drive projects forward with clear communication, accountability, and delivery focus
Own program timelines, facilitate design critiques, and manage cross-functional mechanisms and feedback loops
Qualification
Required
6+ years of design experience
Experience defining and maintaining design patterns and UX standards
Experience in delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity
Experience working with stakeholders to plan and execute programs that are strategic in nature
Have an online portfolio or samples of work on resume, demonstrating experience creating great end-to-end, user-centered design solutions and patterns, across desktop and mobile devices
Experience in a variety of design, wire-framing, and prototyping tools
Preferred
Experience applying scrum to visual or UX design processes
Experience with UX design of complex workflows
Experience in product, program, or project management in leading cross-functional teams in delivery of major new products or services
Experience building AI-integrated tools or systems
Familiarity with design tokens, accessibility standards (WCAG), and component libraries at scale
