Occupational Therapist - Part-time
Hope Services is Silicon Valley’s leading provider of services to people with developmental disabilities and mental health needs. They are seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide in-home developmental assessments and activities, parent education, and promote progress for infants and families. The role requires functioning independently to deliver early intervention services while collaborating with various professionals and agencies.

Responsibilities
Function independently and autonomously in providing home based early intervention services to infants and families, and maintain assigned caseload
Provide evaluation and treatment addressing six major developmental domains including: cognitive, language, social, gross and fine motor and self-help skills
Perform comprehensive neurological and physical assessment of infants including muscle tone, range of motion, reflex development and movement patters. Identify neurological sequelae and develop and implement treatment plan based on assessment findings
Perform oral-motor feeding assessment and identify oral motor pathology and sensory based feeding disorders, provide feeding therapy and or oral-motor treatment as indicated
Provide updated, developmental information at scheduled IEP’s and IFSP’s and establish appropriate goals and objectives
Independently recognize those families in crisis and provide appropriate consultation and referral regarding issues related to child abuse, domestic violence, parental stress/conflicts and substance abuse
Presents in-service trainings to HOPE staff and provide trainings to outside agencies
Collaborate with physicians and outside agencies regarding developmental and other health related issues
Act as consultant to other agency professional including, physical therapists, speech pathologists and infant educators. Help supervise and train occupational therapy and early intervention students
May perform other duties as assigned to assure efficiency of program
Qualification
Required
Bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy plus registration as an OTR
One year of related experience working with people with disabilities in a rehabilitation environment
Basic computer skills in work processing and spreadsheet application
Ability to observe, evaluate, document and communicate verbally and in writing
Ability to accept supervision and work cooperatively as a team member with coworkers as well as with the client and families
Knowledge of disabilities and syndromes
Ability to utilize critical thinking skills in decision making situations, good organizational and record keeping skills, and good independent judgment
Knowledge of infant assessment and developmental activities
Knowledge and understanding of team and family dynamics
Ability to be flexible with scheduling and prioritization of tasks
