Responsibilities
Performs a variety of diagnostic radiographic exams and C-arm fluoroscopy
Assists with invasive procedures using sterile technique
Utilizes traditional, computerized, and digital radiographic equipment to create high quality diagnostic radiographic images for cranial and spinal patients
Works with the provider to assist using Fluoroscopy C-arm with procedures such as epidural steroid injections and radio frequency ablations
Assists with draping, positioning and prepping for these procedures, assisting nursing staff with monitoring sedation cases
Orders and stocks supplies needed for specialty cases within the department
Works with pharmacy daily to order and supply contrast for procedures
Qualification
Required
A graduate of an approved JRCERT radiologic program (The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology)
Medical and/or hospital clinical experience required
Basic computer experience (1-2 years' work experience or college level classes)
ARRT certified (compliant with all continuing education mandates)
ARRT registry eligible (must complete within one year)
Radiological student from an approved Radiology program that has completed all academic courses (must be registry eligible within three months and complete registry within one year)
BLS prior to going to unit/department and maintained going forward
Preferred
Prior hospital and/or physician office background and specialty training in fluoroscopy with procedures and/or CT
CNMT certified
