Responsibilities
Design architectural solutions and the associated validation process to enable the realization of a design brief (e.g., in terms of functionality, aesthetics, and cost) that conforms to organizational and/or regulatory standards
Create complex engineering drawings to support the communication, evaluation, and implementation of engineering solutions
Contribute to the design of engineering solutions; design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions
Undertake building and technical surveys to determine the building condition and identify defects and associated risks. Includes conducting a wide range of surveys on complex sites
Provide specialist professional advice relating to construction regulations and best practice with regard to complex maintenance, alteration, and construction of buildings
Supervise the installation, operations, and maintenance of a building information modeling (BIM) system. Make sure that systems are maintained and periodically upgraded. Coordinate building- and construction-related measurements. Review and endorse data, records, and base maps for future use
Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an in-depth understanding of technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media
Conduct feasibility studies from a technological and organizational perspective and document findings to complete cost-benefit analysis on implementing changes to business processes, products, or business unit structure
Conduct complex feasibility studies from technological, financial, and organizational perspectives on bid solicitation, including request for proposal (RFP) and request for tender (RFT) project requirements, and write specifications for tenders
Manage relationships with small clients while also helping senior colleagues manage relationships with larger key clients and customers
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture from a NAAB accredited program
8+ years post graduate progressive experience in the field of architecture including substantial experience in developing details, planning and design support for design development
Working knowledge of building systems, detailing and technology
Working knowledge of applicable codes, regulations, and standards
Working knowledge of design solution development
Working knowledge of differing building types and project delivery methods
Working knowledge of programming and planning methods
Working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD
Working knowledge with InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
Preferred
LEED Accreditation a plus
