Responsibilities
Help direct, develop and maintain a scalable and efficient data architecture for our SaaS platform, ensuring optimal performance and reliability
Help develop, modify database schemas, indexing and data partitioning strategies to improve system efficiency
Establish guidelines for data integrity, lifecycle management, and access control
Define and enforce security policies, encryption standards, and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2, HIPAA)
Oversee the development and optimization of ETL processes to manage large-scale data ingestion and processing
Support the designing and maintenance of HA/DR strategies using replication, clustering, and backup plans
Partner with infrastructure teams to ensure RTO/RPO requirements are met
Work closely with security teams to implement proactive measures against data breaches and vulnerabilities
Stay up-to-date with the newest technologies and trends in data architecture and security
Have experience partnering with application architects, security leads, product management, and devops teams to align data strategies with business goals
Provide mentorship to developers on schema building and data access patterns
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
15+ years of experience in database architecture, data engineering, security and software development
Strong expertise in SQL, NoSQL, and distributed databases
Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (AWS RDS, etc)
Knowledge of modern data lake and data warehouse architectures
Experience with encryption, identity management, and data masking techniques
Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) and automation tools for security and data management
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective communicator who can clarify technical concepts to non-technical team members
Prior experience in a SaaS environment handling multi-tenant architectures
Experience in crafting microservices-based data architectures
