Responsibilities
Aseptic preparation of IV admixtures in compliance with departmental, hospital and licensing agency standards
Filling and distributing medications through first fill, cart fill and/or Automated Drug Systems
Maintain functional usage of the hospital computer system as well as interfaced pharmacy systems
Maintain familiarity of a multitude of generic/trade name medications
Perform Narcotic Distribution duties and automated dispensing medication refills
Fill oral prepackage syringes and use Medication Prepackage Machines ensuring Federal prepackaging guidelines are met
Maintain active state licensure and National Pharmacy Technician Certification
Maintain familiarity with JCAHO/DNV Standards for the Department of Pharmacy and remain compliant with the practices of a unit dose medication distribution system
Perform all functions using excellent customer relation skills
Qualification
Required
High School Graduate, CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician)
Testing in proficiency for Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
CPhT must have a minimum of one year pharmacy experience
LPN, RN with CPhT Certification is acceptable with no experience
Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician, Active Certified Pharmacy Technician and must have or the ability to obtain Tennessee State Pharmacy License within 60 days of employment
Preferred
AS Degree in Pharmacy Technology or Accredited Pharmacy Tech Course completion
One year IV Compounding experience
