Personal Lines Account Manager

Responsibilities

Responds to and follows up on customer, carrier, and agent inquiries to resolve issues, gather information, request policy changes, and process new policies
Prepares and monitors insurance documents including renewals, certificates, claims, cancellations, and applications, ensuring timely and accurate handling
Reviews existing client policies, verifies exposures, recommends additional coverages, and facilitates policy enhancements to ensure comprehensive protection
Focuses on client retention through strong relationship-building, proactive service, and reliable follow-through on commitments
Actively pursues new business through prospecting, referrals, cross-selling, and leveraging centers of influence
Submits claims to carriers and supports clients with escalated claim situations, providing clear communication and follow-up
Maintains office inventory, manages assigned projects, attends meetings and training sessions, and stays current on industry trends and regulatory updates

Required

Associate's degree in business or marketing preferred, with 2-3 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and training; insurance agency and sales experience strongly preferred
Working knowledge of insurance forms, terminology, bonds, and personal lines products required
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and capable of efficient internet navigation; experience with EPIC Applied is preferred
Must possess or be able to obtain a state-specific insurance license; professional designations such as CISR or CIC are highly desirable
Demonstrated ability to operate standard office equipment and use software tools to complete tasks accurately and efficiently
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment
Professional demeanor and communication skills for effective interaction with internal team members and external clients

Preferred

Associate's degree in business or marketing preferred, with 2-3 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and training; insurance agency and sales experience strongly preferred
