InternONEOK, Inc. is a Fortune 500 company seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Instrumentation and Process Controls Technician Intern to join their team for a hands-on learning experience. The intern will support the maintenance and optimization of control systems used in natural gas processing and pipeline operations, gaining exposure to industry-standard platforms such as DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems.

Responsibilities
Assist in routine maintenance and troubleshooting of control systems including:
Basic Process Control Systems (BPCS)
Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)
Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
Support hardware diagnostics (e.g., fault identification, battery checks, basic wiring inspections)
Participate in software updates and backups for control systems
Help perform preventive maintenance tasks such as climate control inspections and filter replacements
Shadow technicians during after-hours system support and emergency response scenarios
Aid in documentation and archiving of control system programs and configurations
Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures and best practices
Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to understand control narratives and system logic
Learn to interpret and modify graphics and control logic under supervision
Observe and assist with project planning and implementation involving control system upgrades or expansions
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in a certificate or associate degree program in Process Control and Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Automation, or a related field
Basic understanding of control systems and instrumentation concepts
Strong interest in industrial automation and process optimization
Willingness to learn and work in a team-oriented environment
Ability to follow safety protocols and work in field conditions
Preferred
Familiarity with platforms such as Allen Bradley, Modicon, DeltaV, or ClearSCADA
Basic knowledge of networking and control system architecture
Experience with technical documentation or programming coursework
