2026 Arts in Medicine Intern: Spring

Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art is a public non-profit organization dedicated to celebrating American art and heritage. They are seeking a part-time Arts in Medicine Intern to support the integration of arts into health and wellbeing initiatives, providing hands-on experience in arts in health programming and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Executive Office

Responsibilities

Co design and adapt arts-based learning activities aligned with the ARCHES curriculum
Support gallery and studio sessions that use art, storytelling, and reflection to strengthen observation, communication, and empathy in medical learners
Prepare materials, manage set up and logistics, and co facilitate with museum staff and AWSOM faculty
Scan literature and case studies and grow a shared resource library on arts in medicine
Connect exhibitions and collections to program goals through artwork selection and prompts
Help plan and facilitate events, workshops, and community engagements including run of show and follow up
Contribute to evaluation by collecting participant feedback and assisting with data entry and basic analysis under staff direction while following privacy and confidentiality protocols
Document sessions through notes and photo logs consistent with institutional media guidelines

Required

Graduate student in Arts in Medicine, Museum Studies, Public Health, Psychology, Education, Art History, or a related field. Advanced undergraduates with relevant experience are welcome to apply
Clear interest in the intersection of art, health, and education
Excellent writing, communication, organization, and research skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment and with diverse participants
Familiarity with Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace and survey tools such as Qualtrics or Microsoft Forms
Ability to travel between museum campus and AWSOM within Bentonville
Ability to stand and move through galleries and trails for up to two hours and to lift and carry up to twenty pounds of program materials
Successful background check per museum policy
Commitment to inclusion, access, and respectful communication

Preferred

Prior experience with community engagement, teaching, or health related initiatives is a plus
